3 March: FINAT launches new competition: FINAT Recycling Awards
FINAT is organizing its inaugural FINAT Recycling Awards Competition to raise awareness for release liner recycling programmes, to recognize efforts made by the industry, and to promote best practices in liner recycling. See also page 59
4-5 March: Committee and Board meetings at Fira Palace Hotel, Barcelona
The Technical Committee welcomed a delegation of tesa, who presented the new tesa test tape 7475 PV2, which is used in several FINAT test methods. Based on this information the TC decided to conduct round robin tests for FTM 10 and 22 to assess the new values for release force.
The Marketing Committee discussed means and ways of how to improve communication to and from the members and enhance their involvement in FINAT activities. The Industry Trends subcommitee proudly presented a proposal for a new statistical exchange: the FINAT RADAR. The congress programme for 2014 was presented, ideas for the new format for 2015 were exchanged and steps were taken to expand the engagement of the committee for the execution of FINAT’s PR, communication and social media activities.
The Board focussed on the final details of the new FINAT strategy, to be presented to the members during the General Assembly. It also discussed the roles and responsibilities of each board member, FINAT’s position towards regulatory affairs, lobbying, and general representation of the self-adhesive label industry in matters, which are relevant to them.

7 March: FINAT Recycling Group meeting, Fira Palace, Barcelona, Spain The group deliberated on how FINAT could most effectively disseminate the message that release liner can be recycled. It also discussed the communication flow emerging from the Recycling Awards competition. FINAT’s Public Affairs and Issues Manager, Mark Macaré, has and will continue to attend relevant industry events to promote the various release liner recycling initiatives.
20 March: FINAT introduces the FINAT RADAR
