The Non-Adhesive Group was won by Skanem Poznan Poland for Eveline Cosmetics – Anti Stress.
The number of entries for the sleeves category in this group continues to increase year on year.
The Innovation category was shared between Schreiner Group GmbH & Co. Ltd. Germany for “Nameplate with integrated pressure compensation seal” and Auraprint Oy Finland for Orion Clean Card Pro.
The judging panel included well-known industry experts from Turkey (Murat Sipahioglu), Greece (George Kokkoris), United Kingdom (Steve Wood and Chairman Tony White), and a packaging design expert from The Netherlands (Lianne van den Berg).

Many of the winners from this year’s competition will be entered in the World Label Awards competition which will take place just before Labelexpo USA in September.
From the previous year’s FINAT winners, five received a World Label Award including the Schreiner Group (D), Royston Labels (UK), Skanem Introl (PL), Etimag Etiket (TR) and Collotype (USA).

Best In Show
The “Best in Show” and the “Marketing End Uses Group Winner” awards went to Collotype Labels USA for its “Le Pich” label. Please see comments in the introduction.

This category has two joint winners.
Collotype USA for Le Pich
The judges were extremely impressed with this label not only for its technical excellence but also for its artistic appearance. Using screen and offset litho along with delicate and very accurate foiling and the additional
bonus of embossing, the whole label exuded quality. Registration even in the smallest detail was absolutely accurate. The design was very authorit-ative and confident, a real credit to Collotype and the label industry.
Collotype Australia for Christobel’s
The way in which the flowers are depicted on these three labels is reminiscent of the style of diagrams found in the flora and fauna illustrations normally associated with the early 19th century. The sharpness and detail in the flowers and the bird, bee and butterfly are reproduced very well. The added subtle grey branding in the background adds to the overall effect. This label carries so much information including the plant genus “hidden” in the grey background. A classic result making the very best use of the offset litho process.

This is a bright result making very good use of the metallised paper substrate using only four colours. The embossing in areas such as the shield outline, the
