RESULTS FINAT LABEL COMPETITION 2012
THE 32ND FINAT LABEL AWARDS COMPETITION CONTINUES TO ATTRACT A HIGH NUMBER OF ENTRIES
The FINAT Label Competition is regarded as an important competition in the world of labels. The number of entries for the past three years has topped the three hundred mark. This year was no exception, with 325 labels being examined by the judges during the three-day judging event, with entries from 52 companies from as far away as Brazil and Peru.

Whilst the quality of the entries remains at an encouragingly high level, this year the judges were more critical of the entries, and consequently just under 100 labels were considered worthy of an award.
The “Best in Show” and the “Marketing/End-Uses Group Winner” awards went to Collotype Labels USA for its “Le Pich” label.
The judges were extremely impressed not only by the technical excellence of
the label but also by its aesthetics. “An outstanding label on so many levels,” commented Tony White, Chairman of Judges. “This label would sell the wine purely on the quality of the label! The dramatic look of the label is enough to grab the consumer’s attention on the shelf,” he continued. Using screen and offset litho along with delicate and very accurate foiling the additional bonus of embossing, the whole label exuded quality. Registration even in the smallest detail was absolutely accurate. The design was very authoritative and
confident, a real credit to Collotype and the label industry.
A trend towards the increasing number of entries for the Marketing/End-Uses Group continues, with almost 250 entries received this year compared with just under 50 for the Printing Processes Group (ratio 5:1).
The Printing Processes Group winner was Skanem Poznan from Poland for Soplica Szlachetna Wódka 500 ml, which made good use of the flexo and screen printing processes.
