In addition to the working programme, the CPC, together with the FINAT secretariat, selects the venues for the evening programme as well as that for the partners. “The CPC’s work over the coming months will be centred around forming a new CPC for the 2013 Congress in Munich, and the initial planning for this. This will be a joint Congress with the VskE, and we are looking forward very much to working closely with them again. News of the 2013 theme and programme will be available during the coming autumn”, Noel concludes.
• PR and Communications Sub-committee: streamlining the internal and external communications of FINAT
Niklas Olsson, Flint Group (SE) has undertaken to chair the new PR and
Communications Subcommittee (PRSC). Originally, the PR sub- committee was set up to support FINAT and its professional PR partner (first Franklin Associates from London, since 2011 Duomedia from Belgium), to create consistent messages and input for feature articles and PR stories in ‘horizontal’ (labels and packaging magazines) and ‘vertical’ (end-user market targeted) trade media. At their joint meeting prior to the Marketing Committee meeting in Barcelona this spring, it was decided that this sub-committee should not only cover the external PR aspects of FINAT’s communications, but also our own written and online association media. The new extended PR and Communications sub- committee will therefore also embrace the members of the task force that was in charge of the development of the new FINAT
website and community (chaired by Christian Menegon of HP Indigo, ISR).
• Awards Sub-committee: maintaining and extending the profile and prestige of the FINAT Awards
Although officially this is a sub- committee under the responsibility of the MC, in practice its work has been delegated to Tony White of AWA Consulting (UK – not to be confused with AWA Alexander Watson Associates), who is professionally organising the judging and all awards- related ceremonies and communications. Tony annually reports back to the MC and calls upon ad hoc support from volunteers on the committee (for instance in the case of the awards ceremony). Tony also acts as the liaison between the FINAT Awards and other awards competitions elsewhere in the world (see awards report elsewhere).
