A review of current finAt committees And sub-committees, their recent Achievements,
And their future AgendAs
The changing speed of communication, increasing globalisation, and an ever-growing agenda of legislation has driven changes in FINAT’s infrastructure. Working with the FINAT Board, the ‘headline’ FINAT committees - the Marketing Committee and the Technical Committee - now embrace a series of sub-committees to enable a more focused, timely response to issues and opportunities. Here, we talk to the body of men and women who give their time, and that of their companies, to helping steer a safe and successful course for the self-adhesive label industry - across the whole of Europe, and beyond.

‘a volunteer army’
Jakob Landberg (Nilpeter) is Chairman of the Marketing Committee. Echoing the successful move in the Technical Committee, it has just recently imple- mented a new, expanded structure featuring four active Sub-committees which, between them, help to share the workload and speed throughput, maximise the use of volunteer resources,

improve accountability, and create better alignment with the Board. The Sub-committees are dedicated to congress planning, PR, strategy, and the creation of an innovative, interactive website. These four areas of activity represent the central impetus for FINAT’s primary function of promoting and developing the overall market for self-adhesive labels.
‘This is a volunteer army’, says Jakob, ‘so there is a high level of determination to succeed. The Marketing Committee is very much a discussion forum, and re- presents an excellent way for both suppliers and label converters to join the broader industry family. This committee is always happy to welcome new members - especially label converters, who have a very precise viewpoint and are the most needy beneficiaries of FINAT marketing support.
‘Unquestionably, the strongest benefit of FINAT membership is networking across the whole label community on neutral ground. And that includes true, old-fashioned, “analogue” networking at congresses and seminars!
