Around Midsummer’s Night the leaves of the water lily
are usually large enough to support a baby during a photo shoot, and generations of Leiden residents can boast
of having baby photos taken in this glasshouse.
There is much more to be seen here: food crops such as 17 sugar canes and rice, as well as many other tropical plants. Enjoy the tropical warmth and, who knows, you
might even spot a pretty butter y uttering between the plants.
